Exam Process
Individual test reservation flow for the JFT-Basic. Follow these steps to register for your test.
Before Making a Reservation
Please complete the following preparations before making your test reservation.
Get Prometric ID
Access the Prometric website (reservation website) and obtain your Prometric ID.
Check Schedule
Check the test dates and test centers available in the country where you will take the test.
Reserve in Advance
Make your reservation on the reservation website by 3 business days before your desired test date (4 business days if the test date falls on a weekend).
Note: Reservation changes can also be made through the reservation website.
1. Online Payment Method
Pay the test fee online during the reservation process. This is the standard payment method.

Log in to the reservation website with your Prometric ID
Select Date & Venue
Choose test date, test center, and start time
Payment
Enter payment information and pay the test fee
Reservation Complete
Your reservation is confirmed
Important Notes
- • Cash payment is not available for test centers in Japan.
- • Payment methods may vary by country. Please check the reservation website for details.
2. Cash Payment Method (Voucher)
In some countries, you can pay the test fee in cash by purchasing a voucher before making your reservation.

Purchase a voucher at a voucher sales office to pay the test fee

Log in to the reservation website with your Prometric ID
Select Date & Venue
Choose test date, test center, and start time
Enter Voucher
Enter the voucher number and expiration date
Reservation Complete
Your reservation is confirmed
About Vouchers
- A voucher is a number required for test reservation. It is issued after paying the test fee.
- Vouchers have an expiration date. Please check the availability at Prometric's website.

- Arrive at the test center on time
During the Test
CBT Format
- Take the test on a computer at the test center
- 60 minutes to complete approximately 50 questions
- Use headphones for the Listening section

Results Notification
Test results are provided in two stages after completing the test.
On Test Day
Immediate
After the test ends, your total score and pass/fail result are displayed on the computer screen.
Within 5 Business Days
Official Notification
The official result notification is issued on the reservation website. Log in to view and print it.
Result Notification Contents
- • Total score (scaled score ranging from 10 to 250 points)
- • Pass/fail determination (200 points or above = pass)
- • Section-by-section correct answer rate (for reference)
